General Information

That MikroWin PlateOrganizer extends the possibilities of MikroWin 2000 concerning input and administration of sample identification data. On the one hand the MikroWin PlateOrganizer is able to distribute sample identification data to up to 10 columns, so that e.g. for each sample, a sample ID, an expiration date, a batch number, a stock location etc. can be assigned to. On the other hand, the PlateOrganizer provides a comfortable method to enter sample information data, independent of MikroWin 2000. Therefore, several microtiter plates can be prepared before the actual measurement is taken place.

MikroWin PlateOrganizer offers two views of the microtiter plate. The upper view indicates a line of sample identification data for each of the individual positions of the microtiter plate. Each line is divided into different columns holding the specific identification data. This view is arranged like a list. The lower view represents the microtiter plate in matrix form. This view exclusively serves for visualization of the current microtiter plate overlay and filling state.

Above the upper view, a line of input and selection fields is located. This line serves for entering the plate ID as well as selecting the template to use and the input mode. Below the lower view, a line of buttons is arranged. This buttons serves for controlling the program operations.

Overview

MikroWin PlateOrganizer can only be used in combination with the MikroWin 2000 test evaluation software. On the one hand MikroWin PlateOrganizer needs the MikroWin 2000 template files in order to represent overlay and well combinations of the selected template (test). On the other hand MikroWin 2000 will load the sample identification data files created by MikroWin PlateOrganizer in order to enable positive sample identification during the measurement of the plate. A system, using the MikroWin PlateOrganizer can, of course, also be merged with automatic sample distributors.

The data exchange between the individual modules (MikroWin PlateOrganizer and MikroWin 2000) is performed using computer files. Therefore, it is possible to run the modules on different workstations (computers) and realize the inter-module data transfer over the computer network. However, running the two modules on a single workstation (computer) is, of course, possible.
